Gaikai and Open Feint among top 50 tech startups
Four Square and Tiny Speck also place on Dow Jones' list of promising businesses
Gaikai and Open Feint are just two of the game-related companies to keep a watchful financial eye on, according to a list of fifty start-ups compiled by Dow Jones for the FASTech conference this week.
Dow Jones' VentureWire arm steered a jury to chose fifty new technology companies who had exhibited promise through business practice, innovation or successful funding for the list.
Gaikia and Open Feint are the two most prominent gaming-related companies on the list, but also featured are MMO studio Tiny Speck, location services Foursquare and GoWalla, and various other supporting techs such as microtransaction handler gWallet.
Yesterday, market analysts Screen Digest predicted that the cloud streaming market would be worth over $400 million by 2014 if companies such as Gaikai could overcome the initial hurdles involved.
Open Feint, which is a mobile social game network powered by Aurora Feint, went live on Android platforms last month, and promises to offer users cross platform play between iPhone and Android systems.
