Long-awaited Last Guardian aiming for Christmas 2011

PS3 game from Ueda given tentative date; Ico and Shadow of the Colossus re-released

Sony has revealed that the long-awaited game from Fumito Ueda, The Last Guardian, will not be released until Christmas 2011.

The game follows acclaimed titles Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on PlayStation 2, both of which are to be re-released in high-definition for the PlayStation 3.

However, even the 2011 date didn't sound definite, with a spokesperson stating "that's out target," according to our sister site, Eurogamer.net.

Ueda said that he trialed a different development process on The Last Guardian, adding "it's the end of the trial and error phase of production and it's time to go into full production - crunch mode."
