Ninja Loves Pirate was originally developed for the contest "Four elements" at gamedev.net. The demo which was produced also won the contest, and then went on to be nominated for best Swedish independent game of 2005. Right now the full version of the game is being produced by Muskedunder Interactive, a game development studio located in the heart of Gothenburg, Sweden.
