Conceived as a contemporary twist on the classic arcade game genre, Arcade Cats is an innovative action game in which the user is responsible for directing mice – the game’s heroes – safely across various game fields containing dangerous roaming cats, all the while collecting enough stars to complete each level. Specifically designed for an optimal mobile arcade experience Arcade Cats is currently available on the iTunes App Store.
The newest entry into the available library mobile arcade-based game apps for the Apple App Store, Arcade Cats features progressively more challenging levels which are un-locked as players advance through the game, interactive scoreboards, as well as three unique game-play options including Arcade, Puzzle, and Outrun modes.
Arcade Cats is a well-rounded arcade game that utilizes intuitive controls and straight forward game-play to ensure that the game can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age or gaming skills. Players release their mice – all of whom are part of a cluster termed the Ramses Brothers -- at one end of the playing field with the ability to simultaneously release multiple mice from different places at the bottom of the screen. Each mouse can only progress in a straight path across unless they stumble onto an arrow to change their direction. Stars -- which serve as the central point system within the game -- are collected once the mice have completed a successful crossing and lost when the cats that freely roam the game field have caught them.
Though it is a true and pure arcade game in essence, Arcade Cats was simultaneously developed to focus on numerous puzzle elements as well. Many of the levels players experience as they progress through the game require them to not only unleash their mice most effectively but to solve various dynamically geometric problems. In the vein of classic arcade games heavily incorporating puzzle elements such as Pac Man, Arcade Cats engages and challenges the player by forcing them not only to react quickly but to map out correct ways to solve certain levels when playing as well in order to avoid any danger and collect enough points at the same time.
