And The Winner Is... IGN.com Announces "Best Of E3 2005 Awards"

Spore Walks Away With Ultimate Prize; Okami Settles for Runner-Up Position

BRISBANE, Calif. - May 31, 2005 - Editors from IGN Entertainment's flagship website, IGN.com, have revealed their "Best of E3 2005 Awards." Spore, a title developed by industry powerhouse Electronic Arts, beat out stiff competition from highly anticipated games Okami and Age of Empires III to walk away with the Best PC Game and the coveted Best of Show award.

An army of IGN editorial staffers reviewed hundreds of games at the show to single out the titles that stood head and shoulders about the rest. More than 6 million viewers followed IGN.com's E3 editorial coverage including a record breaking 35 million page views on May 17 alone.

"With so many great titles this year, the team had their hands full determining the top award getters. Spore was the hands down winner for Best of Show thanks largely to engaging and exhilarating gameplay and spectacular graphics," said Peer Schneider, senior publisher and editorial director of IGN Entertainment. "Each year the games get better and our decision gets harder. It's a great position for the industry to be in."
