Allods Online

Second North American closed beta starts on December 1st.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Sunnyvale, CA—November 24th, 2009 Gala-Net, Inc., a leading free-to-play online game publisher, announced today their second Closed Beta Test (CBT) for Allods Online in the North American market. The second CBT will run from December 1st through December 15th and will enhance the user experience with brand new content.

While still allowing players to play both League and Empire factions, all 28 classes, Closed Beta #2 will also feature six new zones: two new zones for the League, three new zones for the Empire, and an exclusive zone only available to the Warden archetype. The second CBT will also include a new diverse set of enemies (Massive Drakes, Harpies, Scorpions, and Arctic Yetis), comprehensive character customization through unique talent grids and talent trees, and an increased level cap to Level 20. The saga between the warring factions of the League and Empire continues to grow as players immerse themselves through the 300 new story-driven quests revealed in Closed Beta #2.

The first CBT release was met with universal praise and generated tremendous feedback from the gaming community:

“The art style of a game, no matter what some people might say, is a big deal in any first impression. Well, consider me impressed because I was blown away by the graphics in this game. I've always felt ‘stylized’ graphics were a good idea, to help with the longevity, but it works especially well in Allods because it's combined with some realism…I mean, we're talking about award-winning artists here, and I can honestly say that I haven't seen art in an MMO that has stopped me in my tracks this many times since Guild Wars.” – Shawn Schuster, Editor, Massively.com

About Allods Online

Allods Online is a revolutionary sci-fi fantasy MMORPG developed by Astrum Nival, creators of Heroes of Might & Magic V. With a $12 million development budget and four years of development, the production values are top-notch with full motion-capture animation, top award-wining artists, and a soundtrack by Mark Morgan, composer for the hit TV-series Dexter, Fallout & Fallout 2, and Planescape: Torment. The game features an unprecedented amount of content for a free-to-play MMORPG: 2 factions, 6 races, 8 archetypes, 28 classes, and over 1,500 quests. The premise of the game is two warring factions, League and Empire, vying for control of allods—islands floating in Astral space. The truly unique aspect of Allods Online is the Astral ship system. Players can create their own ships which can be crewed by multiple parties where each player has a distinct role, from navigator and helmsman to gunner and besieger. From there, players can explore randomly generated astral space where they can explore uncharted allods, fight massive Astral demons, and engage in Astral piracy on unwary fellow players.
