Alienware at CeBIT 2006

An almighty new breed of notebooks, desktops and entertainment systems has evolved

Athlone, Ireland - 6th March, 2006 - Alienware®, the leading manufacturer of high-performance notebook, desktop, media center, and professional systems is set to invade Cebit this year with an almighty new range of notebook, desktop and entertainment systems. The prototype Area-51 5400 entertainment system with Intel Viiv will be unleashed at the Intel stand (Hall 2, stand C46).

The NVIDIA (Hall 23, stand A50), Creative Labs (Hall 23, stand A50) and Western Digital (Hall 1, stand G51) stands will also be powered by Alienware's new breed of cutting edge systems that deliver the very latest in performance, style and technology.

Speedy storage giant housed in a gaming monster

The hearts of gamers and power users will beat faster than ever at the Western Digital stand. Alienware's Aurora's 7500 high-end desktop system will be show casing the brand new Western Digital Raptor (10 000RPS and 150GB storage capacity) hard drive. The Aurora 7500 can be configured with dual-core processors including AMD's Athlon 64 FX-60 processors and two high-performance graphics cards thanks to NVIDIA's SLI technology. Gamers, software engineers and creative professionals can witness the sheer speed and almighty power wielded by the Aurora 7500 series.

Area-51 5400 for the mobile multimedia enthusiast

The prototype of Alienware's mobile entertainment desktop the Area-51 5400 based on Intel's red-hot Viiv technology will also be on display at the Intel stand.

This futuristic, ultra-quiet system is completely wireless (apart from the power supply). Integrated wireless connectivity and Bluetooth peripheral devices free up the system from traditional cable constraints. The NVIDIA GeForceTM Go 6600 256MB graphics card delivers a breath taking, out of this world graphic performance. VoIP and video-conferencing also come to life by way of an integrated camera and microphone.

The Area-51 5400 is powered by Intel's Centrino Duo mobile technology combined with dual-core processing to handle all galactic data-intense applications, it's quite simply out of this world!

Mobile desktops at NVIDIA

NVIDIA will promote the mighty Aurora m7700 and Area-51 m7700, the iconic and ultimate high-performance gaming notebooks. The Aurora m7700 features AMD dual-core processors that pack the performance of high-end desktop systems. Thanks to the latest NVIDIA graphics technology users can experience realistic and vibrant applications on the 17" widescreen LCD equipped with ClearView technology. Dual hard drives in RAID 0 or RAID 1 provide huge storage and backup possibilities.

Creative Labs go mobile at work, music and gaming

Available with the NVIDIA GeForce Go 6800 and dual SATA hard drives the Area-51 m5700 delivers a storage capacity of up to 240GB. This mobile gaming and multimedia powerhouse features a 17" widescreen LCD with ClearView technology that delivers impressive viewing and crystal clear images. Creative Labs will also display two Area-51 m5500 systems with mobile NVIDIA graphics, Intel Centrino mobile technology and the Alienware certified DDR2 storage. A dual graphics mode enables users to alternate between the graphic capacity of the NVIDIA GeForce Go 6600 and the integrated media graphics accelerator - depending on the requirements for performance or a prolonged battery life. Boasting a 15.4" widescreen LCD with ClearView technology and weighing only 2.7 kg the Area-51 m5500 is one of the lightest in its class.
