Activision opts out of E3

Publisher won't be attending official show but will hold its own event during the same week

Activision has said that due to business reasons it will not be attending this year's E3 Media & Business Summit.

According to Gaming Nexus, the publisher of Call of Duty and Guitar Hero will be holding its own press event during the week of E3.

"After careful consideration, for business reasons Activision has decided not to participate in any official E3 activities. We wish the ESA best of luck with the show," said the company.

This year's E3 will be returning to the Los Angeles Convention Center, after last year's event was held in Santa Monica.

Organisers The Entertainment Software Association has yet to announce a line-up of publishers and developers attending the show, taking place July 15 - 17.
