A RECORD BREAKING 40+ NORDIC GAME COMPANIES TO PARTICIPATE IN GDC & GC IN SAN FRANCISCO 2008

Nordic Game to host over forty Nordic developers, publishers and games organisations at the GDC Expo and GC event in the Moscone Convention Center's North Hall.

The Nordic contingent at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) and Game Connection (GC) 2008 will once again demonstrate the Nordic region's impressive breadth and depth as a creative hot spot for games development.

>From February 20-22, thirty Nordic game developers, publishers and industry organizations will be exhibiting at booth #5605 in the North Hall, the largest display space at GDC 2008. Furthermore, fifteen Nordic companies will participate in GC America, a business-to-business event being held parallel to the conference.

"We are definitely making a statement at the GDC this year with the placement and the floor coverage of the Nordic Game exhibition," said Erik Robertson, Director of the Nordic Game Program. "Our games industry is gaining recognition for its economic potential in our own region and our strong showing at the conference and exhibition will highlight the importance of this industry in the Nordic countries."

The Nordic region's GDC line-up this spring includes Finnish Bugbear Entertainment, an award-winning developer of action driving games and best known for the multimillion-selling FlatOut franchise, Icelandic CCP Games, the independent developer/publisher of EVE Online, and Zeitguyz, a Danish developer showcasing the in-development AAA title Recoil: Retrograd.

The Nordic Game group exhibition is a project of the Nordic Game Program ( http://www.nordicgameprogram.org/). The mission of the program is to ensure access to quality computer games that are distinctly Nordic for young people in the region. Motivated by the conviction that Nordic game developers are best suited to create such entertainment, the Nordic Ministers for Culture launched the Nordic Game Program in 2006.
