A New Frontier

Frontier to move and expand

9th May 2005. Cambridge, UK. Frontier Developments, the highly respected independent UK game development studio behind hits including the No.1* RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3 and the eagerly anticipated Wallace & Gromit game 'Curse of the Were-Rabbit', today announced its move to new, larger offices in Cambridge. Located on the world-renowned Cambridge Science Park, set up by the University's Trinity College, the sizeable new facilities will accommodate all of the expanding developer's 85 internal staff under one roof, whilst also allowing for the additional staff the company is recruiting as it gears up to deliver a growing roster of high-profile projects.

David Walsh, Managing Director of Frontier commented, 'It's an exciting time for Frontier, with a very strong mix of titles in production related to a number of top franchises, including our original IP and work on next generation consoles and handhelds. We take a long term view of our business and the new offices give us the physical space we need to grow as well as offering top-class infrastructure, including high-speed connections to the Internet backbone, and even closer proximity to a highly talented workforce. Cambridge Science Park is a prestigious location and Frontier is now neighbours with some of the world's leading high-tech companies, a fact which reflects games' emergence as a key driver of technology and entertainment and Frontier's position at the cutting edge of both.'

David Braben, Chairman and founder of Frontier added, 'We've firmly established ourselves as one of the most creative and reliable game studios in the world over a long period. Our teams thrive on the challenges of delivering high quality, innovative games on time. The world of game development is about to go through another major transition in its short history and Frontier is ready to meet the challenges and opportunities that are on the horizon.'

Frontier celebrated a U.S. Christmas No.1* in 2004 with its PC title RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, in June will release the first expansion pack, "Soaked!", for that game and has most recently announced its development of a multi-format console game based on Aardman Animations'/Dreamworks' forthcoming Wallace and Gromit feature film, 'Curse of the Were-Rabbit.'
