7strains The Infectious

Xbox Indie game gets free update to address criticisms of "ill received" original.

For Immediate Release

August 19, 2010

The launch of 7strains The Infectious on the Xbox 360 was ill received due to hard controls and no in-game challenges. Instead of dropping the project and moving on, Petrichor Studio’s one man team Dustin Tigner, invested a month’s work to release one of the largest free updates for an Indie game.

To Dustin, reputation means a lot and so does the quality of a finished project. Releasing games on the Xbox 360 Indie Channel presents a rare opportunity to listen to customers and make changes. If customers are willing to take the time and voice their opinion, then someone should listen and take action, and that’s what Dustin has done.

The newest and most asked for additions include dual-stick controls, in-game challenges, and high scores. Amongst these additions, players are now presented with 26—up from 16—customizing options, which can radically change the game experience, and four survivor difficulty levels.

A detailed change log of all new features and changes can be found here. You can find the free demo of 7strains The Infectious here.
