5th International eSports Conference at new venue in Cologne (Germany) on May 27th – 28th – Electronics Arts confirmed as main sponsor

BERLIN, Germany, March 20th, 2008 - The leading international business and networking platform for eSports and Gaming communities, the "International eSports Conference" (ESCONF) will take place on the 27th and 28th of May on the premises of Electronic Arts in Cologne (Germany). The Director of Global Games Media stated: "The Electronic Arts building is a perfect venue for the ESCONF. EA will provide their state of the art meeting rooms to the participants of the ESCONF. The EA Sports Bar will be used for the networking activities. Not to mention that everything will be in view of the scenic shore of the Rhine." Just last year Electronic Arts will be the main sponsor of the ESCONF.

EA's Head of Product Marketing, Dirk Schülgen, stated: "We're happy to welcome the ESCONF on our premises. We're positive that our newly built facilities will provide for a successful event for all participants."

The ESCONF kicks off on the 27th at 15 CET with the newly established "eSports Connection" and a multitude of workshops. The second day will entail the actual conference. Global Games Media is expecting yet another increase in participants and internationality of the participants, guests and the press. The public sign-up for the event will open in late March on www.esconf.com.

International eSports Conference 2008

The "International eSports Conference" will be held for the 5th time. It is the leading business and networking platform in the eSports and Gaming Communities sector worldwide. If offers presentations, workshops and discussions on the recent and future developments in the eSports sector. This year's focus will be on the discussions regarding the current problems in the eSports sector and their potential solutions. International experts from the industry, the media, science, politics, sports and the gaming community will be invited. More than 200 participants and speakers are expected to attend.
