3DS software dominates in Japan as Vita sales halve

New 3DS software owns the top 5, Sony's handheld falls by 50 per cent

The PlayStation Vita's sales halved as new 3DS software stormed the Japanese software chart.

According to a report on Andriasang, three new releases for Nintendo's handheld made the top 5: Etrian Odyssey IV, Little Battler eXperience Baku Boost and Run For Money. The only other notable new entry was Toriko Gourmet Survival on PSP, which charted in fourth place.

However, despite the number of new releases hardware sales were down across all formats - most notably the PlayStation Vita, which sold around half of the previous week's total of 22,638 units.
