38 Studios licenses NaturalMotion's morpheme

In-game animation tool will be used on developer's upcoming MMO

38 Studios has licensed NaturalMotion's animation design engine Morpheme, for its upcoming unnamed MMO.

Morpheme has been used in Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword, CCPs EVE Online and Dungeon Hero by Firefly Studios.

"When selecting middleware we are very careful to find solutions that enable us to focus our attention on our game," said Jon Laff, chief technology officer for 38 Studios.

"Morpheme allows us to create very high-quality character animations quickly, cutting down on a lot of intensive animation design and implementation time."

Earlier this year, 38 Studios announced that it had also licensed Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 for the MMO.
