The ION Game Conference is the only annual game industry event with a laser-sharp focus on the rapidly evolving business of online game development on all its platforms. Our theme for 2008 is redefining online. Redefining online means we're actively exploring the boundaries of online game development. Console, wireless, virtual worlds, mash-ups, mobile, casual games - all of these categories intersect with online gaming. Game Republic: Games, gamers and demographics - Leeds, UK

A panel discussion that explores the relationship between games and gamers, touching upon the creative process, feedback loops with gamers (does this happen often enough?) and are we, as an industry, reaching out to the masses with our products? The full names of the panel are still be confirmed, but so far we have Ed Bradley from Ignition Entertainment, Jamie Sefton from Future Publishing, Margaret Robertson (a freelance writer, consultant and games designer) and a representative from Zoe Mode. Its free attend, will offer great networking opportunities as well as food and drink to fuel debate.

To celebrate the launch of Staffordshire University's new award 'Multiplayer Online Games Design', The Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Technology are hosting a 2 day conference on all aspects of the growing field of study that includes MMOGs and Virtual or Persistent Worlds – from the industry, academic, technological and the individual perspective. Game Education Summit 2008 - Dallas, Texas, US

Game industry leaders and educators from across the country will gather in Dallas at Southern Methodist University June 10 and 11 to try and develop future programs to solve what many experts say is the video game industry’s number one problem … a critical shortage of skilled professionals.
