Founded as a start-up business in 2000 and formerly aimed at the German-speaking market, the company now organises events throughout Europe. Despite the company's growth, it has remained true to the location of its founding, the "Holland" colliery at the heart of Germany's Ruhrgebiet.

PlanetLAN GmbH is a responsible employer and trains young people with an urge for acheivement. These future event managers and media artists can cut their teeth on an exciting and rewarding apprenticeship involving the largest events in the IT and games sector, the conceptualisation and organisation of high media-impact promotional events, management and consultation of customer projects, and the development of innovative software solutions for the Internet.
