Founded in 2006, Luma Arcade is the game development arm of Luma Studios which began life in 2001 as Luma Animation.
After branching off and creating Luma Design in 2003, the next logical step was to create a division with the sole purpose of creating interactive digital content, with the focus being on computer, video, and mobile games. The close relationship that all 3 divisions of Luma share allows for the effective cross pollination of skills between the companies, which results in an extremely effective production environment that produces world class work.
Luma Arcade specialises in game development commission work, offering a complete suite of services from design through to development. We also offer such services as game trailers, rendered cutscenes and promotional material which can be a part of a complete game development contract, or simply outsourced to us as complimentary additions to an existing project that is being worked on outside of Luma Arcade.
The game design philosophy at Luma Arcade focuses on creating projects by making use of reusable technology, created in-house as well as licensed from external middleware providers. This allows us to provide cross platform, immersive and entertaining applications that can be created within budgets that are not normally associated with the game development industry.
The Luma Arcade team has a collective experience of over 70 years in the professional computer graphics and game development industries, with some members having worked on commercial games for the PS2, PSP, and Xbox platforms. Luma Studios as a whole is comprised of various Producers, Animators, 3D Artists, 2D Artists and Designers, totalling over 40 people.
