Baltimore County Public Schools has a proud legacy of success in raising student achievement levels. The families of Baltimore County expect excellence for their children, and we are proud that they entrust their children’s education to us.

A proud legacy is not enough, however. What matters now is what is in our present and future. Public education innovator Horace Mann once wrote: 'Let us not be content to wait and see what will happen, but give us the determination to make the right things happen.'

As we embark on the second decade of the 21st century, I am challenging all staff, students, and partners in education to dare to be trailblazers – to learn, to create, and to share.
