Ubisoft Shanghai is working on the next iteration of one of the best selling Ubisoft franchises. We are looking for experienced level artists to participate in development of our AAA title.

Job Summary:

Create 3D assets—environment, level props, and characters—and everything required in the graphical production cycle of a game title. Level artist will be in charge of modeling, texturing, lighting for the environment or characters respecting technical constraints and following the direction of lead artist, art director, and with support of technical director.

Responsibilities:
- Design high quality artwork by closely working with level designer and understanding the technical requirements of each platform, each genre;
- Understand creative director’s and art director’s vision and develop level assets based on this;
- Apply architecture concepts to levels (believability, threshold, and volumes);
- Work in close daily collaboration with level designer to ensure that playability of the level and the graphic elements support each other;
- Support art director to define additional level props required for the level in charge—this will be produced by model artists;
- Cooperate with other teams, such as game designers, software engineers, sound designers as necessary to bring tasks to completion;
- Always catch up with the development plan;
- Continuously learn new graphics tools and processes in line with the tasks requirements;

Requirements:

• Ability to design creative and visually appealing game levels utilizing 3D tools (3DMax, Maya , etc.);
• Degree holder majoring in Fine Arts, Design, Architecture, or related field;
• Minimum 1-2 years experience as a 3D Artist in the game industry;
• Demo Reel or URL showing your 3D modeling, texturing and lighting work is required, or wire frame snapshots;
• Portfolio of traditional art skills is required;
• Creative with the ability to adapt to realistic game style;
• Task driven with good time management skills, ability to work independently as well as a good team player;
• Passion for creating and playing video games;
• Good communication and presentation skills, good command of English both in written and oral;
• Unreal engine graphical pipeline experience is a big plus.
