| Job Description | THE COMPANY One of the most widely recognised names in gaming, our client is a genuine AAA developer responsible for a significant number of hugely successful franchises. THE ROLE Our client need a maths and physics wizard that gets off on seeing things bounce, crash and behave/animate like the real thing (with allowance for creative effect to make their games more fun). Responsibilities include:- * Integrating, maintaining and extending our proprietary physics engine in the next gen (PS3, Xbox360) titles developed in the London studio. * Integrating our physics and animation systems for ultra realistic games. * Supporting and working with the project team solving physics & AI problems. * Optimising the existing physics code for the title being worked on. * Co-write technical design and software design documentation. Required skills/experience:- * At least 2 years of programming experience with emphasis on physics and/or vehicle dynamics. * Ability to demonstrate current approaches to Physics implementation and knowledge of the issues relating to use of Physics within games. * At least 1 shipped title. * Excellent C/C++ programming skills. * Ability to plan and manage workload within an overall project schedule. * Ability to work well as part of a creative team, providing input into the creative process to push the games in development. * Self-motivated with a strong work ethic. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Bachelor's degree in Physics, Software Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. * Passionate about playing and making games. Desirable skills/experience:- * Experience working with Next Gen consoles in particular Xbox360 and/or PS3. * Experience in cross platform development. * Knowledge / experience of issues relating to physics and animation system integration. * A shipped title.
