Job Description THE COMPANY

Founded by a small number of Industry veterans our client is a 100% independent British Games developer. With a number of successful sports titles released this studio offers stability and the opportunity to explore and develop new IP - actively encouraging new concept submissions. Currently they are working on both sports and non-sports titles.

Based in a picturesque location you will be working with a small-medium sized team in a friendly and positive working environment.

Their ideal candidate will be pro-actice, positive, flexible, enthusiastic, creative and used to thinking outside the box.


THE ROLE

Our client is looking for an experienced Online/Network Programmer to work as part of the programming team on a new online title for PS3 and PC.

Reporting directly to the Lead Programmer you must have the following qualities:

• Must be self motivating, intelligent and enthusiastic.

• Able to plan and schedule a solution for a set goal.

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.

• Must have strong software engineering and debugging skills.

• At least three years work-place programming experience.

• Experience of Console development preferred.

• Excellent C++ knowledge essential.

• Experience of game-side network code such as addressing latency and lag, client-side prediction and correction issues.

• Asynchronous, network client and or server programming knowledge beneficial.

• A good understanding of the production process.

• A Self-disciplined and proactive approach to work with an appetite to learn.
