Our client is developing on next generation platforms looking for people who want to innovate and drive next-gen gaming to its full potential. We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, can deliver high performance, robust code to realistic deadlines. THE ROLE Our client is looking for programmers who have experience of network and online programming, to work on the next-generation of games and technology. Our client has specific roles suited to programmers with experience or strong interest in network and online programming. In particular, experience of any or all of the following areas is sought:- * Socket level programming * Experience on any platform is suitable - Windows, Unix, Linux, Console, etc. * MiddleWare experience (e.g. Quazal, GameSpy) * Dealing with low-bandwidth, low latency, high lag situations. * Experience of dead-reckoning, prediction * Fault handling, graceful degradation Note that candidates who have any network programming experience will be considered, or if you do not have commercial experience, then a strong demo will be considered. ESSENTIAL SKILLS:- * Strong C++ skills are essential - a minimum of 2 years C++ experience. * Experience of network or online programming, in a commercial environment. (May be commercial software i.e. Non-games development) or a very strong demo. * Strong skills in creating well written and well documented code. * Strong problem solving & debugging skills. * Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written. * Ability to produce work to agreed deadlines.
