Job Description THE COMPANY

Established for over 10 years, our client is a fast-growing, experienced, and respected independent game developer.

They have developed over 40+ titles for leading publishers including EA and SEGA and built an impressively strong track record.

Previously known for its work on high-profile licensed handheld products, today they develop their own proprietary multi-format technology for all major game platforms with the global aim of developing its own innovative and original IP’s.

They aim to produce and develop quality video games within a professional environment where all staff feel motivated.


THE ROLE

Our client is looking for programmers with experience such as character control, vehicle control, scripting, AI, and camera control. Game Play Programmers will be creating highly data-driven and reusable solutions to game design issues posed on each title. They will work with the design team to create game play that is fun and consistent. Game Play developers will often be drafted to work on prototypes for infant titles. This requires a programmer willing to try out lots of ideas in a short timeframe, honestly accepting when some ideas fail to work.



ESSENTIAL SKILLS:-

* Excellent C++ skills

* Previous console game play experience on a shipped title

* Good understanding of maths relevant to game play development

* Design and content team collaboration experience

DESIRABLE SKILLS:-

* Experience controlling physics engine

* Experience with Lua

* Cross-platform games development experience

* Network game play experience

* An excellent grasp of the Nintendo DS platform architecture and its impact on game design
