THE ROLE

Our client is looking to appoint a Gameplay Engineer responsible architecting and developing core game systems on an exciting next-gen project.

MAIN DUTIES

Working on either AI or Networking depending on applicant. Taking ownership of the quality for a large section the game in regards to implementation and functionality. Liaising with game programmers, artists and designers to make sure their needs are met in an efficient manner.

Reporting to the Lead Programmer and Producer, this person should show an ability to work with minimum supervision and be self-motivated to achieve set goals.

This person should have strong technical skills and demonstrate a keen desire to produce high-quality work on a product.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:-

* At least 1 shipped title

* Previous experience in commercial game programming

* In depth knowledge of optimisation and performance

* Technical design / architecture skills

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Genuine passion and enthusiasm for quality games

* Able to self-manage own schedule

DESIRABLE SKILLS:-

* In-depth knowledge in either AI or Networking

* Ability to demonstrate significant contribution to past titles

* Ability to mentor junior technical programmers

* Ability to lead a small sub-team

* Ambitious and quality driven.
