| Job Description | Description This AAA leading studio is looking for an exceptional Level Designers. Home to some of the best and brightest talent, and has garnered a reputation for being one of the industry's premier art, design and technology video game powerhouses. Our studio's teams are focusing on delivering high quality, fun and leading edge games for Sony’s PlayStation 3, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Windows PC. Our extensive infrastructure, investment in next-generation tools and technology and strong management provides a solid foundation to continue pioneering great new titles for years to come. Level Design teams are comprised of a Scripter and a Level Builder working closely together on one or more levels in the game – these teams take ownership of the design from concept to completion. We are looking for self-motivated designers with intense creative vision and fresh ideas for gameplay. Qualifications Responsibilities: * Brainstorm new gameplay ideas with level scripter, and craft levels that bring those ideas from concept to reality * Build realistic 3D levels using Radiant level editor – experience with other 3D applications a bonus * Detail & polish geometry (including lighting) based on photo reference, concept art, and design documents * Research subject matter for history and look of the level * Prioritize to meet deadlines – must also be proactive in communicating progress and seeking resolution to issues Qualifications: * Must have a strong passion for First-Person Shooters and be able to communicate critically likes and dislikes of other games * Must be able to take constructive criticism from peers and design leads – refining gameplay is a collaborative & iterative process * Level editor experience with Radiant * MOD community experience is great – industry experience is better * Must have a demo reel, portfolio of screenshots, or playable examples of levels in relevant engines (Quake based) to qualify for an interview * Must be able to explain the creative process that went into past work and discuss how the concepts contribute to a fun & unique experience TO APPLY Please contact Jennifer Dancy - jennifer@specialmove.com with a current Resume and showreel (if applicable).
