SEGA Europe Limited is a rapidly expanding video games publisher and developer within the western market, and is the European arm of SEGA Sammy, a world leader in the provision of interactive entertainment both inside and outside the home. SEGA develops, publishes and distributes interactive entertainment software products for a variety of hardware platforms such as Xbox 360, PlayStation platforms, Nintendo platforms, PC and wireless devices.

SEGA Europe has 4 development studios; Sports Interactive, The Creative Assembly, SEGA Racing Studio and SEGA Studio Australia. In addition SEGA Europe sells video games in over 40 countries within the EMEA territories and operates offices in London, Paris, Munich, Madrid, Sydney and Amsterdam.

Position Overview
SEGA Europe has organised its Central Marketing Department into two divisions: “Core Games and Sports & Racing” and “Entertainment”. The Marketing Manager, Entertainment will lead the Entertainment division in the creation and marketing of new products throughout the PAL territory, managing aspects of product development, marketing strategy, advertising and product launch.

The flagship brand of the corporation, “Sonic The Hedgehog”, sits proudly within the Entertainment group and driving this brand forward into a new era will be a key aspect of the job.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage a team of Brand Marketers of varying levels of seniority, in order to develop, research, refine and implement the global brand marketing strategy for Entertainment titles/franchises ensuring input and approvals as below:

•Ensure 'expert' in-depth knowledge of the products (including BP and rolling forecasts, key selling features, milestone delivery dates, demo ability, market and genre status and history, and any territory specifics and competitor titles)

•Manage the timing, quality and budget within all central brand marketing deliverables. Ensure regular communication of planned dates to territory teams as well as all key stakeholders (e.g. studios, licensors)

•Develop excellent, productive working relationships with members of relevant teams to gain buy in, input and where relevant approval on strategies, activity and creative

•Drive initial set-up and ensure accurate administration and control of product marketing budgets in line with both BP and rolling forecasts

•Oversee internal and external creative agencies to project manage all consumer marketing campaign elements. Ensure input and official sign off from key stakeholders

•Drive the internal SEGA creative studio to work with internal and external localisation partners to ensure delivery of top quality localised versions of all final retail packaging SKU’s

•Source and execute relevant third party marketing partners for co-marketing activity and in-game inclusion

•Define, research and create back catalogue promotions for your franchises that can be implemented on a global basis

•In conjunction with the Research Executive organise and co-ordinate consumer testing projects as required (e.g., focus testing, post-sale satisfaction etc.).


SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Develop working knowledge of the market place which falls within your responsibility, including platform installed bases, retail picture, consumer profile, marketing activity and pricing economics

•Liaise with the Research Executive to stay current with ongoing general, global research analysis and access available data relevant to the specific product/franchise


KEY PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

•Net revenue contribution of individual products
•Delivering brand marketing elements to agreed quality levels, by planned dates and within agreed budgets
•Level of creativity across marketing plan and elements
•Support of development studio, internal teams and territories (evaluation by counterparts at the end of the year)
•Level and depth of knowledge of products on ongoing basis
•Delivery of product on time and in line with original quality standards (shared responsibility with producer).


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications: Marketing or business degree
Currently working at least at Product Marketing Manager level (or equivalent).

Experience:
•Significant level of proven product/brand marketing experience at a European/global level, ideally with some territory specific experience

•Games industry or related entertainment industry experience
Proven track record of launching successful products, ideally in the sector

•Working directly and developing relationships with video games development studios

•Working at a global marketing level managing and gaining buy-in from many territories

•Excellent time management, organisational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
