| Job Description | Company Overview SEGA Europe Limited is a rapidly expanding video games publisher and developer within the western market, and is the European arm of SEGA Sammy, a world leader in the provision of interactive entertainment both inside and outside the home. SEGA develops, publishes and distributes interactive entertainment software products for a variety of hardware platforms such as Xbox 360, PlayStation platforms, Nintendo platforms, PC and wireless devices. SEGA Europe has 4 development studios; Sports Interactive, The Creative Assembly, SEGA Racing Studio and SEGA Studio Australia. In addition SEGA Europe sells video games in over 40 countries within the EMEA territories and operates offices in London, Paris, Munich, Madrid, Sydney and Amsterdam. Position Overview To lead in the creation and marketing of new products throughout Europe, managing aspects of product development, marketing strategy, advertising and product launch. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: •Develop and implement the European product marketing strategy ensuring input and approvals from Senior Management and territory teams •Ensure 'expert' in-depth knowledge of the products (including BP and rolling forecasts, key selling features, milestone delivery dates, demo ability and competitor titles) and develop relationships with SEGA PD, IBPD and external dev teams where relevant •Schedule and achieve planned dates for all central marketing deliverables and ensure regular communication to territory teams as well as relevant members of the Central Marketing team and Senior Management •Liaise with internal and external creative agencies to project manage all consumer marketing campaigns elements. Ensure input and buy-in from key territory partners as well as relevant members of the Central Marketing team and Senior Management •Liaise with Internal and External creative studios plus partner territories to deliver top quality localised versions of all final retail packaging SKU’s •Work with SEGA of Europe web team to define and implement online presence for each product •Drive initial set-up and ensure accurate administration and control of product marketing budgets in line with both BP and rolling forecasts •Source and execute relevant third party marketing partners for co-marketing activity and in-game inclusion SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: •Develop working knowledge of European market places, including platform installed bases, retail picture, consumer profile, marketing activity and pricing economics •Liaise with the Head of Research to stay current with ongoing general Euro research analysis and access available data relevant to the specific product/franchise •In conjunction with the Head of Research, organise and co-ordinate consumer testing projects as required (e.g., focus testing, post-sale satisfaction etc.) •Define, research and create back catalogue promotions that can be implemented on a global basis. KEY PERFORMANCE CRITERIA: •Net revenue contribution of individual products •Delivering central marketing elements to agreed quality levels and by planned dates •Delivering central marketing elements within agreed budgets •Support of territories (evaluation by counterparts at the end of the year) •Level and depth of knowledge of products on ongoing basis •Level of creativity across marketing plan and elements •Delivery of product on time and in line with original quality standards (shared responsibility with producer and marketing manager). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: QUALIFICATIONS: •Marketing or business degree with ideally 2/3 years Product/brand marketing experience in a global organisation (ideally at least 1 year in the games industry or related entertainment industry) •Proven marketing and ideally commercial related track record Excellent time management, organisational, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills. PERSONALITY: Strong team player in a multi-cultural environment, open-minded and flexible, sense of humour, relaxed and focused, enthusiastic, committed, ambitious and career-minded. |
