Position Overview

The primary objectives of the Build Programmer are to provide technical knowledge and expertise to the Program Office. In particular, to replicate the various build processes employed in each of our studios at the main publishing office, and to verify the content and viability of archive materials received from 3rd party developers and update these archives to support new features where required; to identify & investigate any security breaches related to SEGA products and to work closely with both QA and game developers to assist with development & implementation of automated testing processes across all products in development for SEGA Europe.  

Key Responsibilities  

    1. To work with the game teams to replicate their build process at SEGA   Europe HQ
    2. To review and verify all archive projects received by SEGA to ensure that the project can be built from the files provided by the developer
    3. Investigate any potential cracks or unauthorised duplication and/or distribution of SEGA projects that may be present on the internet or any other medium
    4. To work within the Program Office team to implement automated testing processes for QA

      Knowledge, Skills and Experience   Essential: 
    • 3 years video games industry experience & at least 1 published games on multiple platforms
    • Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Good knowledge of various version control systems
    • Good knowledge of a range of IDEs & build environments
    • Good knowledge of C++ or C#
    • Experience in at least one scripting language
    • Experience in automated build/test tools or continuous integration systems
