The Second Life Grid provides the platform where Second Life resides and offers the tools for business, educators, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs to develop a virtual presence. Headquartered in San Francisco, Linden Lab has over 200 employees spread across the globe and they are now growing their European Studio based in Brighton, UK.

Overview:

Linden Lab has an immediate need for a talented Sr. Software Quality Assurance Engineer / Automation Engineer. If you like to break stuff and understand why it broke, enjoy taking a vague description of a bug and defining as well as reproducing the problem, are passionate about improving the Second Life experience, as well as smart, creative and energetic, then you might be a Linden!

Responsibilities:

- Develop and deploy unit test frameworks in C++, Perl.
- Refactor unit test cases into existing code bases.
- Develop performance and testing tools for MySQL.
- Identify software defects, run test suites, and verify fixes.
- Enter and update bugs in defect tracking system (Jira).
- Write test cases, scripts and suites.
- Develop tools to enable Second Life to test itself.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer with Software Development or Software Developer in Test experience.
- Expert knowledge of software development processes.
- Testing experience with online client/server products or live online games.
- White box testing experience.
- Experience using automated test tools such as but not limited to LoadRunner or WinRunner.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to successfully interface cross-functionally with a wide range of personnel.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Second Life and Second Life's scripting language a plus.
