• Build, set up and configure existing open source, commercial and proprietary Linux server applications.
  
• Act as a system administrator for the development environment.
  
• Create and document operational procedures, including installation, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting guidelines.
  
• Act as a PostgreSQL database administrator.

Skills: 

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or related field.
  
• 2+ years of Linux system administration is required.
  
• Hands-on experience administering Apache web server is required.
  
• Working knowledge of UNIX Shell language is required.
  
• 1+ years of server software development using Java is required.
  
• Hands-on experience working with LDAP, PostgreSQL is highly desirable.
  
• Hands-on experience working with Java (J2EE) application servers, such as Tomcat, Orion, JBoss is desirable.
  
• Some experience developing and/or supporting network monitoring and administration tools.
  
• Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and networking.
  
• Some knowledge of network hardware (switches, load balancers, routers, etc.).
  
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  
• Flexible, team oriented, goal focused.
