Job Title Experienced Game Designer
Job Category Games Designer,Lead Designer
Job Description Relentless Software are currently working hard on creating a raft of brand new games as well as continuing with our hugely successful Murder Files franchise.

We have been successfully publishing our own games since 2009 and have the funding and partnerships in place to take it to the next level. There’s nothing more satisfying than creating a hit game and we have done that on both console and mobile. Our 10-year history speaks for itself – we’re really excited about what the next 10 years have in store and you could be a part of that.

We need talented and enthusiastic game developers from all disciplines to join our BAFTA-winning team in the heart of Brighton, UK. You will join seasoned veterans and eager débutantes to help us design and build new games for self-publishing as well as work with our roster of blue chip clients such as Sony, Microsoft and Hasbro.

Senior Designer

We’re looking for a talented and experienced Game Designer to join our dynamic studio in the centre of Brighton. In this role, you’ll be working closely with the Product Lead to establish and maintain the creative vision of the game. You’ll be expected to collaborate with programmers, artists, sound designers, other game designers and QA to ensure the design is on course and free of flaws. You’ll use your experience to anticipate problems and provide inventive solutions. You’ll be creating fun, accessible and genre-defining products that anyone can play.

At Relentless, we pride ourselves on being passionate, open-minded and innovative. We believe in pushing the boundaries and creating products that stand out from the rest. We also enjoy sensible working hours so that we can make the most of all that Brighton has to offer. When you work with us, you’re not just an employee – you’re part of the family.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our award-winning studio, so if you’re someone who’s imaginative, resourceful and continually striving to create amazing experiences, we want to hear from you!

In this role, you must:
  • Take charge of design at all stages with unrelenting passion - from the high-level concept and pitch to the detailed documentation of features and fine-tuning of mechanics.
  • Effectively communicate your design using any appropriate tools: Photoshop, PowerPoint, Unity3D, Visio, post-it-notes, mind-maps or Lego! Whatever sells the idea to your team.
  • Appreciate the balance between creative and commercial requirements. Work with the Project Lead to understand any constraints, and work within them whilst making the game the best it can be.
  • Be willing and confident to take on your own project, or report to a Lead Designer, depending on the circumstances at the time.
  • Have the capability to scrutinise the design for weak spots and tackle them head-on.
  • Be highly responsible, self-directed, and a detail-oriented problem solver with a desire to contribute to a creative environment.
  • Be driven to share ideas and seek feedback from others with a confidence to defend decisions with both heart and mind.
  • Support other designers within the studio where appropriate, striving to ensure that every Relentless product is amazing.

Key skills:
  • 3 or more years genuine experience designing, making and shipping games.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • An analytical mind with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • An enthusiasm and passion for game design with a willingness to continually learn and improve.
  • Experience working on both console and mobile games would be an advantage.

Due to the level of interest we are currently unable to sponsor work visa applications for this role.
