| Job Description | REALTIME WORLDS – creators of the no.1 hit game CRACKDOWN, are looking for a Lead Animator to join our team on our next ground breaking title, the MMOG, APB: www.apb.com , www.webzengames.com/Game/APB Realtime Worlds are on a very secure footing with our game projects signed with top-tier partners, a recent $50m investment and an all-star board of directors whose former job titles included Founder of DMA Design (creator of such hits as the Lemmings and Grand Theft Auto series), Vice President at Nintendo of America and Managing Director of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe Work with a talented team of artists on a high-profile, next generation MMO. The role will involve the creation of animation. You will work closely with the Lead Artist in creating designs that are consistent with the overall vision for the game. Responsibilities * Realising the Art Vision in APB through the aesthetic and technical standards of the animation * Oversees the work of the Animation Team on a daily basis, communicating the art direction and giving constructive feedback * Making sure that the animations are visually and functionally consistent with the rest of the game visuals * Understands and communicates a strong knowledge of innovative game production technologies and techniques * Responsible for the productivity of the APB Animation Team and the functionality and quality of all assets produced by them * Must work with the technical team to develop the technology and systems design for animation related tools and systems * Responsible for recruiting, scheduling and managing the APB Animation Team * Supervise regular team meetings * Works with the Lead Artist in the planning, organisation, scheduling and management of any third party animation pipeline – such as motion capture * Works with the Lead Artist and the Production Team to set key milestones for the team * Support and report to the Lead Artist regarding all above responsibilities Experience Required * At least 5 years experience in the industry (preferred, but slightly less experience will be acceptable) * At least 2 years experience as a Senior Animator * At least 2 published games under belt. * Experience as a Developer for more than one platform would be desirable but not a must. * At least 4 years experience with industry standard 2-D package (e.g. Photoshop) * At least 4 years experience with industry standard 3-D package (3D Studio Max and Character Studio preferable but Maya acceptable) Knowledge/Skills Required * Must have excellent understanding of the processes of concepts, design, modelling, texturing and animation in games, preferably for multiple platforms * Must be excellent problem solver with a very good understanding of the latest game processes and art techniques * Must be a good communicator both internally with entire team and externally with publishers and other departments, etc. * Must be able to adapt to the style, techniques, continuity and quality of artwork as set by the Lead Artist * Must be highly organised and be capable of producing and maintaining accurate project schedules * Must be pro-active in the solving of art-related problems for the game * Must be highly motivated and able to motivate other individuals * Must be able to work well within a team * Should ideally have an active interest in video games Education Required * Degree or Diploma from Art College in either Animation or related course If interested please use the button below to send your CV and portfolio along with any current package details.
