We’re looking for a talented and original full-time 2D game artist and UI designer to create amazing art assets and get stuck into Playniac projects, from concept development and game design through to build and launch.

You know how to express yourself visually across a range of styles and to create beautiful game art and game interfaces. You have experience with games development and are familiar with Unity. You’ve already played a key role in delivering art assets on several game for mobile, tablet, console and/or PC. You perhaps have a degree (or equivalent) in art or graphic design, and are able to work with a programmer to get UI elements up and running. You are comfortable designing concept art and rough prototype art as well finished production art. Above all, you must be ambitious, personable and enthusiastic about making great games. You’re probably a bit of a perfectionist; you likely play a lot of games too.

Playniac’s games are earning us recognition worldwide, and you will be part of that success. Recent projects have won critical acclaim and been showcased UK-wide and in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. We have a comfortable central-London studio with top-end desks and ergonomic chairs, outdoor space and deck chairs, indoor and outdoor breakout areas, great coffee and a fully-equipped kitchen. We’re near to all of the bars and food places of Angel, and a short hop into the West End.

About you:

  • A 2D game artist and UI designer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience and a predominantly games-specific portfolio;
  • You are creative, talented and able to direct the look of a game by turning your hand to 2D environments, character design, assets and other graphic elements;
  • You have experience developing slick UIs for tablet and mobile devices as well as consoles, browsers and/or PCs;
  • You are passionate about games – your own portfolio experiments and game projects are considered a plus;
  • You are knowledgeable about asset pipelines and workflows for mobile and other platforms;
  • You have excellent written and oral skills in English;
  • You can inspire and be inspired by working in our team.
