Job Description About the Role:
We are seeking a talented gameplay coder/scripter to join our North West based studio, working in the Unreal engine 4 on an exciting new project currently in full production. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to creatively influence a brand new franchise and be a part of our development strategy for years to come. Starting from an existing codebase, successful applicants will be required to work as part of a team to create new and expand upon existing gameplay features to facilitate the development of the project. This is a full time, in-house role based in the Greater Manchester area. Employment is based on an Initial 3 month temporary contract, leading to a contract extension or permanent role upon review.  

Preferably 3 years games industry experience or experience of working on a full cycle of at least 1 published title. Applicants that do not have the preferred experience, but can provide strong portfolios displaying outstanding creative and technical ability will be taken in to consideration.  


  • Work closely with level/game designers to create and implement features and expanding on an existing code base.
  • Provide technical assistance to 3D modellers/animators developing systems to bring assets into the game.
  • Develop tools, custom widgets and helpers for use in kismet, and level scripting.
  • Maintain and debug your own and existing code.
  • Help expand upon and develop existing A.I. systems.
  • Be responsive to deadlines, work well under pressure with the ability to provide time estimates to tasks.
  • Communicate productively within a multi-disciplined team.


  • A strong academic background preferred with a degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or other science-related subject if you have appropriate experience. 
  • Knowledge of real-time game programming, C++ and knowledge of blueprints.
  • Existing knowledge and practice of secure server api's. 

Additional Qualities:

  • A high degree of self-motivation and initiative.
  • A strong grasp of the principles of modern game design.
  • A strong interest in games and related media.
  • Team players, with good communication skills.
  • Passionate about games.
  • A pre existing knowledge of the unreal engine would be a great boon for candidates.
  • Any experience with VFX, such a particle effects etc. Especially within UE3 and UE4.
