Job Description	Other Ocean’s Newfoundland, Canada Studio is seeking a Video Game Designer. A game design job at Other Ocean Interactive typically entails creating, documenting and implementing game designs and in-game systems. Candidates must possess excellent problem-solving skills and need to be able to work independently as well as under direction. Excellent communication and documentation skills as well as a passion for games are a must. Designers should have at least two years experience working within the video games industry. The tasks required of a game designer at OOI include: - Creation and maintenance of game design documents - Designing titles that fit within time and budget constraints while meeting publisher expectations - Planning and building of game levels using a variety of 2D and 3D tools - Balancing of mathematical systems resulting in engaging gameplay - Systems and gameplay testing with a heavy emphasis on analysis - Working closely with art, audio and programming departments Knowledge/experience of the following will be considered a plus: - Programming and/or scripting languages - Hardware limitations & capabilities - Art and/or audio production - Script/story writing All resumes must be accompanied by example design documentation demonstrating the ability to create a clear, well written and structured design.
