| Job Description | Location: Amsterdam Salary: DOE including an extensive benefits package for the right candidate Job Type: Permanent Platform: PC/Console Our client is looking for a Shader & Texture Artist to join their successful team. As the successful candidate you’ll develop the artistic look of the material expressions in the whole game world. Using your considerable expertise in photography Photoshop and node-based shader creation tools you will craft photo realistic organic and inorganic material looks as well as complex animated special effect shaders such as water fire and smoke. You’ll work with the Art Director Asset Artists and Environment Artists to achieve a consistent high-quality style. In addition you will tutor other artists in shading techniques and work with our Engine programmers to identify and develop new techniques. To be put forward for this position you'll need to have experience working on published AAA titles in the games industry. Your texturing work needs to be detailed and photo-realistic. You'll ideally possess in-depth knowledge of cutting-edge shader techniques (software rendering as well as real-time rendering) and you’re able to discuss those with engine programmers on a technical level. Enthusiasm and drive are key qualities of the studio and you need to be able to push the envelope and move the engine and shading technology forward. The studio is at the forefront of developing techniques and utilising the very best technology. Technical skills required will include: -Experience with node-based shader creation tools such as Maya XSI or Unreal. -Excellent Photoshop and photography skills. -Understanding and solving artistic as well as technical problems. -Understanding of memory and performance constraints and know how to optimize shaders while maintaining high quality. -An excellent grasp of modelling animation UV mapping and rendering. -Strong written and verbal communication skills and a good command of the English language.
