OPM are delighted to be working with one of the leading social gaming companies in the world. Their games are played by more than 48 million people per month. They are looking for a Data Scientist to join the Analytics team where you will work to further understand, model, predict, segment and monetise the studios customers, and help take the companies analytical capabilities to the next level.

The successful candidate will be strong in quantitative analysis, statistics or mathematics, have strong programming skills and the ability to draw business insights that will add real value to the studio. You will work with the Game Teams to provide insights into how customers are playing the games and Report results directly to the Head of Analytics, the Product Owners of the Games, the CEOs and other executives. You will Conduct predictive analytics to assist the Game Teams to forecast how users will behave to changes in the Games and work with the Analytics Data Lab team and the Game Teams to ensure data is precisely specified, understood and consistent. In addition you will be involved in the debugging and problem-solving to ensure delivery of accurate metrics, first time.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject (Economics, Maths, Engineering etc.) from a leading university.
  • Previous experience as a data analyst/scientist in games, online retail or similar e-commerce industry
  • Strong analytical skills in applied statistics or econometrics and prior experience in empirical analysis
  • Strong quantitative skills, including knowledge of spreadsheet and econometric or statistical software, such as SAS/Python/Stata/R/Matlab
  • Proven programming skills in SQL
  • Be passionate about data, creative, highly meticulous, able to work under tight deadlines
  • Be agile working with data; including being proficient at obtaining, scrubbing, exploring, modelling and interpreting data. Able to work with SQL tables and views, files (such as CSVs, JSONS, XMLS) and web services.
  • You are fluent in written and spoken English and know how to express your views in a concise and coherent way
  • You must be able to turn the results from analysis into actions that can be implemented
  • A passion for games
