OPM are working with an independent games development studio based in the South East of the UK working primarily on PlayStation-exclusive games.

The client has several PlayStation-exclusive titles at various stages of development and are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Game Programmer to help deliver on their ambitious plans.

The studio promotes a creative atmosphere by being informal and flexible, hard-working and passionate.

Their philosophy has been to foster a creative, supportive and fun environment whilst trusting people to get on with their jobs.

Key Skills and Experience:

• At least four years of experience in the games industry

• Excellent C++ skills, used in a game-development environment

• In-depth knowledge of several game systems, in both tools/pipelines and runtime

• Able to understand and use various SDKs and interfaces effectively

• Enjoys helping to build and maintain strong workflows for content creators

• Excellent 3D maths knowledge

• Happy to work closely with others in a cross-discipline team

• Able to design and plan own work

• Passion for video games

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Experience working on high-end PC or next-gen console

• Experience with a game physics system, either in-house or middleware (e.g. Havok Physics)

• Experience with an animation system, either in-house or middleware (e.g. Morpheme)

• Experience in debugging and profiling in all code areas

• Exposure to an Agile (e.g. Scrum) development environment

• Enjoys meeting the quality standards of high-pressure projects
