Established over twenty years ago my client are without doubt an iconic part of the UK games industry. Having developed famous IP's that have achieved global success they are looking to grow their team to take on more exciting projects in 2013.

Responsibilities:
•Work with other programmers to interface with all project subsystems
•Develop and maintain software to aid testing and debugging of networked games
•Planning writing debugging and maintaining computer code often in but not limited to C/C++
•Writing code in a human-readable style using descriptive and accurate class function and variable names and comments where necessary
•Clearly and accurately communicating progress on and problems with your assigned tasks and the project in general to your lead programmer and/or producer
•Accurately assessing task timings/complexity to assist in the writing of an accurate project schedule
•Carrying out assigned tasks within the time scheduled for them as agreed with your lead programmer/producer
•Ensuring that your work integrates well with the work of other team members and functions correctly as part of the whole project

Key Skills
•Having the ability to solve technical problems
•Having an excellent working knowledge of C++ and other languages
•Experience of UDP/TCP IP protocols
•Have the personal skills and the desire to work as part of a team
•Be able to communicate clearly especially when relating to technical issues
•Demonstrate a keen interest and up to date knowledge of the changes and trends in the marketplace both in terms of game play and new technologies

Preferred Skills:
•Broad understanding of networking systems including DNS NAT firewalls security methods
•Experience with online game service APIs (such as Xbox Live PSN Steam GameCentre)
