OPM’s client is one of the largest global electronics groups engaged in the development, design, manufacture and sale of electronic equipment, instruments and devices for the consumer and business markets. Their European Headquarters in London manage and develop the creation, production, marketing, sales and distribution of both software content, on-line services and hardware devices.

They are seeking a Head of Commercial Management, responsible for overseeing the Third Party Commercial and Production Management teams.

The main objective of the position is to effectively manage the 3rd party commercial and production relationships with some of the world’s biggest video-game brands by developing meaningful partnerships with publishers and developers, driving platform adoption, strong brand association, exciting and innovative content and maximising commercial value and return for both my client and the 3rd Parties.

The position will require you to develop a deep engagement with senior members of the 3rd party publishers and developers on a global and regional basis, whilst working closely with internal departments to drive the business.


  • Responsible for the overall commercial and production management relationship with 3rd party publishers and developers.
  • Management of a team of commercial and production managers.
  • Establishing a working framework and process between my client and 3rd parties that supports the mutual goals of maximising revenues and profits across both digital and physical. In doing so you will oversee the creation, management and execution of quarterly and yearly revenue plans, commercial lifecycle plans, setting targets for the teams, in line with business objectives.
  • Manage commercial agreements between my client and 3rd party publishers and developers, tracking execution and supervision of respective obligations throughout their life.
  • Ensure the efficient management of partner on-boarding program from early development through to post-launch.
  • Work closely with the on-line team to ensure maximum commercial sales of all 3rd party content.
  • Liaise closely with R&D Services to ensure that the relevant support is afforded to all partners
  • Work in tandem with the Third Party Marketing Director and team to ensure that partners are supported both commercially and promotionally, driving synergies to optimize the effectiveness of the partnerships.
  • Based on platform goals and requirements, identifying opportunities to drive a message and point of difference in all partnership initiatives.
  • Seeking alignment within internal departments and 3rd party teams on specific products and seek new business opportunities within the territories.
  • Provide on-going analysis of partnership deal performance and post-mortems for senior management.
  • Communicate significant business model changes to partners and drill down into what this means for their portfolio / upcoming titles
  • Evangelise brand, promote and pitch commercial objectives to secure publisher participation.
  • Oversee the provision of intelligent data analysis to identify and execute upon commercial opportunities
  • Oversee the post-mortem process – to assess success of activity based on changes to revenue projection, consumer awareness (pre-orders etc) and index ratio.

Skills required;

  • Proven track record of having worked in the video-games industry within a 3rd party publisher/developer in a senior business development or commercial role.
  • A commercially astute individual with a pro-active nature in building value.
  • Proven experience in delivering pan-European commercial plans successfully.
  • Experience of working with international teams both in Europe and North America preferred. Languages preferred.
  • Understanding of both the retail and digital environment.
  • Passionate about video-games and wider entertainment.
  • Instinctive and decisive as well as being able to make key decisions using analysis.
  • A team player who is collaborative and able to drive people towards a common goal.
  • An open-minded individual who is able to finding new ways of doing business and always striving for improvement.
