Role Purpose
•Deliver gameplay & low-level technical functionality, help to shape and realise design vision for a product and facilitate product and platform innovation.
•Work to maximise efficient development and iteration of gameplay features.
•Help design to understand technical implications and push capabilities of hardware and technology, to create industry leading experiences.
•Help engineering team to understand engine boundaries, game architecture and coding requirements to foster maintainable, highly cohesive, lowly coupled software designs.

Main Responsibility
•Research and develop technically complex gameplay features, ensuring cohesion with a wider architecture.
•Research and develop lower-level engine systems to support and advance gameplay opportunities in our products.
•Break down and estimate design briefs, assisting PMs to plan and schedule work effectively.
•Feedback and iterate on design features, pushing technical considerations and building creative solutions that support designers in maximising the experience.
•Produce, evangelise and enforce high quality and robust code, which integrates well with title and core architecture.
•Create software design that ensures title architecture easily supports future game feature development.

Required Experience and Qualification
•Experience with at least one complete AAA game development cycle.
•Excellent software engineering and software architecture skills.
•Excellent C++ programming and debugging skills using modern C++.
•Strong understanding of games and what makes a great experience, as well as a knowledge of the wider industry, including current and future trends.
•Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner, achieving compromises with other disciplines when required to hit deadlines.
•Very strong problem-solving skills - ability to think outside the box.
•People management experience, including performance feedback.
•Excellent degree level qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a Mathematical discipline.

Desired Characteristics
•Experience of motion gaming, especially Kinect technology.
•Experience working on multiple products and platforms.
