As part of Microsoft Studios, Soho Productions is pushing the boundaries of Xbox LIVE to bring a new channel of 2-way television experiences to the world. Working with leading global entertainment partners, we are creating experiences that are not bound by the traditional definitions of television or gaming. Experiences where watching and participating are inseparable that will delight and enrich the lives of families everywhere. Role Purpose The Business Manager will be a member of the senior team responsible for both strategic thinking and business development together with clear attention to detail and process and organization around financial planning, forecasting, and reporting. Key Accountabilities •Own the “rhythm of the business” financial planning, forecasting and reporting and delivery of business reviews •Partner with Finance on a monthly basis taking ownership of the fiscal year operating expenditure budgets •Partner with Finance team to create P&Ls for business streams and for studio as a whole. •Identification and analysis of key business and technological trends in the entertainment industry to drive insights that inform our business •Develop the business case for new products and initiatives focusing on key strategic business and technology drivers and the Studio’s long term and strategic competitive advantages •Partner with Microsoft Studios’ Business Development team to identify and engage with external parties for product development, IP partnerships, etc. •Partner within the studio and the wider IEB organisation to develop shared KPIs, plans, process, and performance evaluation mechanisms to drive usage of Microsoft entertainment products Key Success Criteria •Will be recognised as an integral part of the Studio Leadership team and as a strategic advisor. Successfully manages assigned budgets, ensuring plan and budget targets are met •Engages with a variety of strategic partners to ensure the Studio agenda is known and part of wider organisation planning •Manages “rhythm of the business” reporting so deadlines are met and leadership team is equipped with the right information to drive the organisation forward •Delivers informed business development strategies that demonstrate a deep understanding of the games and wider entertainment industry •Exceptional candidates will also have business development experience, able to identify external parties for partnership, negotiate deals, and manage partner relationships in collaboration with the business development team. Knowledge, Skills and Experience •Must have experience of working in a global market and with external international partners. •Strong analytical problem solving skills and strategic thinking that drive business and product insight •Must be an excellent communicator that can work effectively with multiple stakeholders from different disciplines and organization •Experience successfully communicating up to senior executives and out to broader IEB org •Ability to operate in a highly creative and innovative environment •Experience in building relationships with remote teams and an ability to influence these teams from a distance •Strong leadership and motivational skills •A passion for changing the world through technology and entertainment •Drive and an entrepreneurial mind-set driving business model innovation •Experience of working on multiple products simultaneously Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer and supports workforce diversity.
