| Job Description | The XNA Developer Connection (XDC) team provides services that range from deep performance analysis to advanced code samples and white papers that enable professional game developers around the world to create mind-blowing titles for Microsoft platforms. We work on some of the most advanced hardware on the planet and solve mind-bending problems on a daily basis. We are seeking a software developer with deep technical expertise, game development experience, and the ability to effectively communicate with other engineers. You can be a key part of making Microsoft gaming platforms – including both Windows and Xbox 360 – a success. Primary responsibilities include: - Working directly with external game developers to understand and solve their technical problems - Collaborating with other Microsoft teams on new features that benefit professional game developers - Driving technical issues raised by game developers with the appropriate teams across Microsoft - Understanding the strategic business needs of the platform, and speaking at game developer events You must be self-directed and multi-talented, with the ability to converse easily about topics ranging from Xbox 360 code optimizations to LIVE best practices to Direct3D 10 features. Top candidates will be fluent in C/C++, with experience developing one or more released games for Xbox, Xbox 360 or Windows. Problem solving, presentation skills and effective one-on-one communication are essential. Your focus will be on Xbox 360 and Windows, but our role as a team includes helping games on all Microsoft platforms. The job entails considerable travel throughout the UK and continental Europe, typically one to two trips per month. Experience in any the following areas is a plus: DirectX, 3D graphics, game audio, Xbox LIVE development, and performance tuning. This role is based in Reading, Berkshire and offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package. |
