Senior Engine Programmer (BRISBANE)

Job Description Krome Studios is Australia’s largest independent games studio, located in 3 states and on average, 350 employees Australia-wide. Since 1999 we have created many successful games on multiple platforms and languages, including licensed titles such as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Hell Boy: The Science of Evil and Scene It! We have also created our own IP, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and have more great titles in development.

We are currently looking for a Senior Engine Programmer for our Fortitude Valley Studio, in Brisbane. Fortitude Valley is said to be the ‘hip’ end of Brisbane which includes Chinatown, nightclubs, bars and cafes and is a 15 minute walk or 2 minute train ride from the Brisbane CBD. Brisbane is well known for its creative communities, offering theatre and music, eclectic markets and Australia’s largest Modern Art Gallery!

Working within large teams in our head studio, you will be involved in a number of areas:
- Provide feedback and advice to team members
- Assist with staff training, team task allocation, creation of documentation, and team appraisals/performance management
- Be aware of potential risks to the project and bring to the attention of management
- Greater input in research and development of project assets
- Design, develop, maintain and evolve core engine systems
- Develop and participate in the creation of technical design documents
- Troubleshoot performance issues in a large, mature code base
- Keep up to date with latest technology, hardware and techniques
- Liaise with external hardware manufactures and publishers as required
- Ensure that personal work is meeting all standards (checking work, check-in procedures, build checklists etc)

Is this you?

If you would love to work with us and are wondering what you need, we are looking for people with the following:
- Low-level hardware knowledge
- Advanced C/C++ Skills
- Advanced debugging skills
- Experience with Multi-threading/multi-core architectures
- Hardware/assembly language experience
- 5 or more years C/C++ experience and/or 3 shipped titles programming for console development
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or demonstrated equivalent
