Job Description This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with ambition and initiative to join a fast paced, rapidly expanding online games company based in Cambridge and help us achieve our ambitious goals for 2008 and beyond.

Our growing player support team makes up over half of our employees and while we do work in traditional areas of customer support, we work within a unique environment to enhance our players gaming experience 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week across a wide range of activities.

We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual with proven experience in online community management and a real passion for games. You will define the strategy to provide support for the community to grow and thrive in a competitive environment and manage the communication between the player support department and our players.

We are looking for an individual with charisma, drive and energy who not only has the ability to demonstrate leadership on a daily basis in a highly professional way but also have the ability to deal with a growing amount of in-game volunteers. Reporting directly to the Head of Player Support you will be responsible for all aspects of community management.

Key duties include:

· Providing the support and tools necessary for the community to grow;
· Understand all aspects of the products that the community perceive to be strong or weak and feed this back to the relevant teams to enhance the players gaming experience
· Manage the communication strategy from Player Support to the players including forum teams, ensuring the message is consistent and conducive to improving community growth and morale
· Generate a greater sense of community amongst our player base;
· Create strategies to support clans, fan sites and other groups connected with our products;
· Establish and support in-game events.
· Manage our relationships and the growth of our player volunteer community
· Communicate any commercial opportunities and threats to senior management
· Manage the external investigations team;

Requirements:

· Strong MMO/online community management experience across multiple languages;
· General gaming/industry knowledge;
· Marketing, image building, brand management or PR experience would be useful;
· Good industry and competitor awareness;
· Good written and verbal communication skills;
· Experience of managing multiple teams/managers;


Salary: Up to £35k depending on experience

Location: Cambridge. Candidates must be able to work in Cambridge or willing to re-locate.
