Job Description Our client, a developer and publisher of browser based online games, is looking for an exceptional individual to oversee the games development strategy.

Reporting into the Head of Studio, the successful candidate will provide leadership and strategic direction to the project and the core team development team. They will also be responsible for the commercial performance of the game.


Key duties include:

· Building and overseeing the project Release schedule and overall games development strategy;

· Working closely with the Business Development and PR teams to ensure the continued commercial success of the project;

· Overseeing the continual production of high quality, original and ingenious game releases;

· Ensuring our game development teams are working effectively towards business goals by providing operational support, inspirational leadership and guidance to our large development teams;

· Continual advancement of game development lifecycles and production processes, ensuring a cohesive approach is maintained for the overall storyline development of the project;

· Ongoing appraisal of team managers’ and members individual performances, helping them to work towards their own continuous personal development and team objectives;


Essential requirements:

· Strong leadership skills, with a lead by example approach;

· Relevant experience in a similar position within the games or wider entertainment industry, in a senior leadership capacity;

· Ability to identify trends in the entertainment industry in order to anticipate strategies relevant to the project;

· Knowledge of player behaviours, motivations and profiles;

· Knowledge of game development methods and practices, with an understanding of game design oriented to multiplayer environments;

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to communicate enthusiastically, clearly and concisely to groups and individuals;

· The ability to adapt, re-prioritise and immediately solve problems according to the needs of a fast-moving working environment;

· A proven passion for computer gaming and design;


Also useful:

· Experience of localisation in either games or software;

· Knowledge or experience of developing products for multiple platforms, including mobile;

· Previous experience of community support, preferably in a management capacity;


Salary:

Salary paid in GBP. £35,000 + negotiable (depending on experience), plus excellent benefits package including annual bonus, private health care, gym membership and relocation fund.


Location:

Cambridge, UK. Candidates must be willing to relocate to Cambridge, UK for this position.
