Our Client, based in sunny Brisbane, Australia, is a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software and now employs more than 90 talented staff.They develop on all major console platforms, including Microsoft Xbox 360. Brisbane is famous for its great weather, relaxed lifestyle, and friendly people. It´s within this young, energetic and growing city that our client has created its own friendly and professional environment, creating globally competitive products for the world´s biggest markets. Lead Designer (working on an intense third-person shooter-brawler) Our client is looking for that rare breed of creative thinker who knows how to inspire a team, organise thoughts and plan solutions. An understanding of broader company strategy communication as well as managing a creative team is essential. The ability to think out of the box, to understand that you don’t always have all the answers, but have methods with which to find them a must. Position:- - Maintain a cohesive design vision, enthuse and inspire a team of disparate disciplines. - Oversee both creative and technical design teams. - Ensure adequate software, hardware and resource support. - Ensure competitive research with market products. - Develop and discipline design staff; providing support, goal structure and career guidance. - Communication and diplomacy with external partners. - Provide constant feedback on game tuning and balance to the Design team. Requirements:- - Previous experience working on high profile action titles. - Proven ability to design engaging gaming experiences. - At least two published titles (one as Lead Designer) and subsequent production experience from concept to delivery. - Ability to manage others; encourage, mentor and discipline. - Ability to think like the end user. - Communication skills to easily liaise with programming, sound, art and animation teams. - Advanced written English and creative writing skills. - Visual storytelling interest, a love of movies, books and games a must. - Degree level education preferable Package:- - Competitive Salary. - 20 days annual leave - 9% Superannuation - Annual Performance & Salary Reviews - Project Bonuses - Working Visa and Relocation Assistance.
