Our client, based in sunny Brisbane, Australia, is a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software. Brisbane is famous for its great weather, relaxed lifestyle, and friendly people. It's within this young, energetic and growing city our client has created its own friendly and professional environment, creating globally competitive products for the world’s biggest markets.

Lead Artist

The Lead Artist is responsible for designing, illustrating and creating 2D and/or 3D art assets as well as mentoring and monitoring more junior artists. You will be able to effectively control multiple art subjects and provide solutions. Technical literacy and/or raw creative illustration and design abilities expected. The successful applicant will have managed a creative team and will have strong visualization and communication skills. This position will report directly to the Art Director.

Position:

• Set and maintain art quality standards
• Develop and maintain style guide and art pipeline document
• Develop and maintain art pipeline documentation
• Determine asset completion assessment
• Input into technology features and game design
• Manage day to day activities of the art team

Requirements:

• Significant game industry experience with experience in a lead role
• At least one published title and subsequent production experience from concept to delivery.
• Proven ability in at least two of the following: 3D environment creation, character and/or prop modeling, user interface design, pre-visualization, graphic design, particle FX, MEL script/
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with a methodical and patient demeanor
• University degree in Art preferable
