We are seeking an experienced and exceptionally skilled Environment Artist with a proven track record to join our Midlands based client. The right candidate should be able to demonstrate excellent creative, technical and visual skill. They will be an accomplished Artist with a passion for creating believable worlds with the ability to produce stunning, high quality, efficient, real time game content.

You will be designing, building and texturing the world, have the technical knowledge to achieve great looking results and the skill to get the most from current and next gen platforms.

Responsibilities:
• Creating and maintaining visually stunning 3d game environments
• Layout, light, and set dress levels
• Work with Designers on creating a fun gameplay space
• Create 3d models for in game assets
• Optimize levels for performance
• Work within the technical and memory constraints of a game
• Work with Art Director/ Lead Artist/Concept Artist to maintain art direction for a specific game
• Experiment with and/or evaluate techniques to improve efficiency, workflow, or pipeline contribution to game art/engine

Required:
• 3+ years games industry experienced with at least 1 published title on current-gen consoles.
• A proven track record in the delivery of high performance, high quality 3D assets, preferably for AAA titles. (Please provide a link to your portfolio)
• A thorough understanding of all technical aspects of environment creation.
• Excellent knowledge of cutting-edge art techniques, with all round art ability
• Understand Art work flows with the ability to modify and improve them.
• Have a great understanding of the aesthetics of environment, function vs. Form relationships, as well as what makes a game level fun and intriguing.
• Strong understanding of colour theory, and be able to create balanced & appealing colour palettes.
• Have excellent modeling and texturing abilities.
• Visual flare and talent
• Advanced skills in one or more of the standard industry 3D packages essential, knowledge of 3DS Max an advantage
• Self motivated, good communicator, positive can do attitude, team-player
• Love of games
