Job Description Future Games of London is an independent studio that designs, develops and publishes Smartphone and Tablet games. Founded in September 2009, FGOL create wholly owned and original IP, which by May 2013 had achieved over 80 million downloads worldwide.  

There is an opening for a Lead Programmer at the studio, working on an exciting new F2P title. As the Lead Programmer you will lead a team of around 5 programmers implementing multiplatform games using the Unity engine, constantly reviewing the game and code to identify areas that need to be improved. The Lead Programmer will also participate in day-to-day programming of various areas of the code base and in writing technical documentation.
This position is available immediately.  

Experience  

At least 2 years’ experience in a Lead Programming role
Experienced using SCRUM
Shipped at least two titles on iOS and Android in a senior position using Unity3D
Professional experience using Agile methodology
Experience of designing, documenting and implementing high-level system architecture

Skills  
Demonstrable leadership skills 
Ability to plan tasks with the production team
Advanced knowledge of Unity team workflow and integration pipeline Highly proficient in C#
Understanding of the limitations of mobile platforms
Advanced understanding of the challenges multiplatform development brings
Good understanding of all aspect of game programming such as: AI, Audio, Networking, Graphics, Animation and 3D
Strong ability to design and implement low level gameplay systems  

Responsibilities  

Lead a small team of programmers Responsible for the overall project architecture Identify and solve bottlenecks
Review code and assets integration through the different stages of the development to ensure the project is always structured and technically under control
Ensuring the project meets both memory and performance targets at all times
Identify and report risks as a technical level to the Producer and Technical Director  

Plus  

Proficient in Java and Objective-C Experience of developing F2P mobile games and understanding of Live Ops requirements
Experience with Unity memory and performance optimisation
